Wild West Welcome Reception
Sun June 24, 2007
7:00 pm-10:00 pm

Omni Interlocken Resort – Outdoor Pavilion

The conference officially kicks off on Sunday night with our Welcome Reception at the resort’s new pool complex and pavilion. Join us out back at the Omni Interlocken’s brand new pool pavilion for a rip-roarin’ good time, including calf ropin’, gun slingin’, mountain climbin’, good eatin’, Western music and a special welcome by Buffalo Bill and Calamity Jane! Be sure to bring the whole family and cowboy wear is highly encouraged! Don’t miss this relaxed and casual networking event, where you can catch up with colleagues as most of them have just arrived.

Walker Williams is one of the Rocky Mountain and southwest's most exciting entertainers.  With the band as his backup, Walker has opened for headliners such as childhood idols Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, as well as Billy Dean, Sawyer Brown, Alan Jackson, Lonestar, Tracy Lawrence, Wade Hayes, and several others. His experience on stage has taught him many things, and he has learned exactly how to light up an audience — by combining good country music with friendly interaction with attendees.

State and Regional Associations Workshop
Sun June 24, 2007
2:30 pm - 5:30 pm

ASTA is proud to continue a newly re-formatted session, begun at our Vegetable & Flower Seed Conference in February 2007, which brings together representatives from state and regional seed associations across the country for an intensive workshop session with the leadership and staff of ASTA. This meeting offers a unique opportunity to hear how your state or region’s efforts can be supported by our national seed association, through the various services we can offer to complete the picture of the issues and needs of your local area, including lobbying support, event planning, arbitration, and others. The first session held in February was well attended and widely acclaimed as one of the best sessions of the entire conference. Don’t miss it!

A State and Regional Associations reception will be hosted by the Atlantic Seed Association immediately following the meeting for attendees of this workshop.

Opening General Session
Mon June 25, 2007
8:00 am - 10:30 am

ASTA is honored to announce that this year’s 124th Annual Convention will officially kick off with a keynote presentation by Guy Kawasaki, a founding member of the Macintosh team at the Apple Corporation. What does this have to do with agriculture, you ask? Kawasaki has been a surprisingly popular presenter in the agricultural realm, providing a thought-provoking and eye-opening presentation on the integration between the technology and agricultural industries, and the Apple model for bringing your company further in not just addressing the needs of your customers, but embracing innovations that you can use to anticipate their needs. You will come away not only with real take-home concepts you can immediately apply to move from ideas to action in your business, but also a better understanding of how to keep your company current in our rapidly changing marketplace. The session will begin with a presentation of colors by color guard, followed by the fanfare of the Denver Brass and Bagpipe Band! A full breakfast will be served to all attendees and their families in attendance. Make sure you don’t miss this very special event!

Gala Banquet
Tuesday, June 26
Reception: 6:15 pm - 7:15 pm
Banquet: 7:30 pm - midnight

Tuesday night’s Annual Banquet continues a traditional and pivotal event for ASTA, in which the 2006-2007 officers end their terms and the new ASTA officers begin. This semi-formal evening will feature a gourmet meal and 50’s style live music provided by Big Ray and the Kool Kats, back by popular demand! Don’t miss this important ASTA landmark event!
