New Orleans City Park Volunteer Project
January 22, 2008 • 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
neworleanscitypark.com
Project sponsored by W. Atlee Burpee & Co.
The New Orleans City Park, the largest urban park in the country, was not only damaged by Hurricane Katrina, it also suffered tremendous losses in its work force as well. After the hurricane, the park’s staff was depleted to only 25 employees and the park was left in desperate need of volunteer help. ASTA will send a team of volunteers to the park on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 22 to help plant a section of the park that was damaged. Never before has the United States suffered such a severe natural disaster and we are proud to have the American Seed Trade Association’s members make history by lending our agricultural and horticultural helping hands to the rebirth of this great city.
To participate, simply selection the option on the conference registration form. Participation is free; however, you can also send a donation to the City Park on their website if you would like to make a contribution, and information on sponsorship for this activity can be found here.
