Thai Hot
Thai Hot is a determinate C. annuum ornamental selection; this is the market bird's eye whose species is not settled.
Origin & history
The small upright chile sold across Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia and exported worldwide under this name. Its species is genuinely contested: material sold as bird's eye has been determined as both C. annuum and C. frutescens, and the two are hard to separate on pod characters alone. No species is asserted here because the label does not correspond to one.
