Origin & history
One of the darkest tomatoes ever bred: anthocyanin-loaded skin that ripens near-black over red flesh, from the modern open-pollinated breeding wave and popularized by Baker Creek. The name also belongs to a zucchini and an eggplant, a working example of why variety identity needs the crop attached.
